Established in 1961, IMA is world leader in the design and manufacture of automatic machines for the processing and packaging of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, tea and coffee.

The Group has about 5,200employees, more than 2,300 of whom overseas, and can count on 39 production plants in Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, India and China. IMA has an extensive sales network comprising 29 branches which provide sales and service in Italy, France, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Spain, Poland, Israel, Russia, the United States, India, China, Malaysia, Thailand and Brazil, representative offices in Central and East European countries and over 50 agencies covering a total of about 80 countries.

IMA S.p.A. has been listed on the Milan Stock Exchange since 1995 and in 2001 joined the STAR segment.

• Revisioni Industriali S.r.l., located in Ozzano dell’Emilia (Bologna) and 100% indirectly owned through Corazza S.p.A., sells used automatic machines, after refurbishing and regenerating them.
• Gima S.p.A., based in Zola Predosa (Bologna) and 100% owned by IMA S.p.A., manufactures automatic machines for food & beverage and personal care industries.
• IMA North America Inc. a company based in Leominster (USA) and 100% indirectly owned through Packaging Systems Holding Inc., designs and manufactures tablet and capsule counting and bottle filling machines as well as sterile environment liquid filling machines.
• IMA Life North America Inc., located in Tonawanda (USA) and 100% indirectly owned through Packaging Systems Holdings Inc., manufactures freeze drying machines for the pharmaceutical industries.
• IMA Life The Netherlands B.V., located in Dongen (Netherlands) and 100% owned by IMA S.p.A., provides customer service for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
• IMA Life (Beijing) Pharmaceutical Systems Co. Ltd., located in Beijing(China) and 100% owned by IMA S.p.A., manufactures freeze drying machines for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
• IMA Swiftpack Ltd. a company based in Alcester (UK) and 100% owned by IMA S.p.a., manufactures tablet and capsule counting and bottle filling machines.
• IMA-PG India Pvt. Ltd., located in Mumbai (India) and 100% owned by IMA S.p.A., manufactures blister and cartoning machines suitable for markets in developing countries.

Pharmasiena Service S.r.l., located in Siena and 70% owned by IMA S.p.A., operates in the design and production of filling machines for ampoules and syringes in aseptic environments.
